Learning from the Bees

SPIRITUAL BEEKEEPING IMMERSIONS

“It is in the nature of the honeybee to manifest in ways that touch us deeply. They have the power to transport us by their fragrance, their music, their harmony of purpose, their flower seeking eagerness, their dances, the impeccable beauty and purity of their waxworks, their devotion to the queen, their fantastic ritual of perpetuating the species in the spectacular act of swarm in- and even in their venom. And not to forget their sheer incredible ability to transform every substance taken from nature into something higher, a healing substance. They can open our hearts.” ~ Heidi Herrman

Join beekeeper Courtney Cosgriff as she guides you through her hives and introduces you to the ancient art of sacred beekeeping. Beekeeping has long been an intersection of science, medicine, art, poetry, philosophy, magic, spirituality, & more~ it is so much more than just pollination and honey production.

In exploring our relationship to the honeybees we begin to understand not only our relationship to nature ever more but ourselves. The hive mirrors us and in working with bees we begin to learn what it means to attune ourselves to the natural world. To walk through the world with grace knowing we carry both honey and venom.

They are humbling teachers in this.

Who is your teacher?

Courtney began her path with the bees in 2011 after experiencing two near death experiences which led her to begin studying with a beekeeper at the age of 18. She has been on a journey with the bees for the past 10 years and has studied and apprenticed with different beekeepers giving her a wide range of perspectives and approaches. She has traveled the world exploring our ancient relationship to the bees and she is currently studying bee shamanism & mysticism and particularly the tradition & ways of the Melissae, a collective of priestesses known as “bee women,” who lived in pre- Hellenistic Greece. She is deeply passionate about rewilding the bees, creating sacred relationship with them, and sharing their wisdom with others.
